Dr. Marie-Claude Sicard

Marie-Claude Sicard is an expert in brand strategy and advises large French and international companies on a diversity of subjects related to marketing, branding and communication. She is the bestselling author of the books “Luxe, mensonge et marketing” (Luxury, lies and marketing) and “Les ressorts cachés du désir” (The hidden motives of desire). In her latest book, she analyzes the reasons for the crisis in the marketing and develops a thesis based on the work of the anthropologist René Girard.
She is an associate professor at CELSA (Centre d’études littéraires et scientifiques appliquées) at the Paris IV – Sorbonne. She is the author of several books on brands, marketing and luxury goods. In her publications, the brand is considered as a living system and its identity as an evolving process.
As a true professional guide, Marie-Claude Sicard turns to communications and cognitive sciences to propose the "fingerprint method"© and adopts an innovative marketing approach to shed light on new facets of luxury.
