Dr. Maritza Fuentes has many segments on Despierta America on Univision networks. She is the expert source that many U.S. Hispanics use for health-related issues. She is one of the few health medical presenters in Hispanic media in the USA that also studied journalism.

Both careers have helped her realize important conferences, presentations and columns of health in magazines such as Salud Hoy, Cambio Latino, Creciendo en Familia & Nuestros Hijos just to name a few.

After practicing medicine in Caracas & Bogota, Dr. Maritza moved to Miami to start over. She worked as a doctor’s assistant & later worked in the sales department of channel 41 & Radio Unica.

She graduated in 1991 from the University of Havana, Cuba, School of Medicine.
