Dr. Nido Qubein came to the United States as a teenager with limited English and only $50 in his pocket, embarking on what has become a notable journey of achievement and contribution. As an educator, Dr. Qubein is the President of High Point University, a thriving undergraduate and graduate institution hosting 4,500 students from over 51 countries. Under his leadership since 2005, the university has seen significant growth, expanding from 1,450 to 4,100 students and from 92 to 310 acres. The university has raised over $100 million, leading to the revitalization of the campus with numerous new academic buildings and dormitories. Dr. Qubein has authored a substantial array of books and audio programs that are distributed globally, including titles such as "Stairway to Success" and "The Time is Now, The Person is You."
In the business realm, he serves as the Chairman of the Great Harvest Bread Company, a national retail bakery chain with 220 stores across 43 states. Additionally, Dr. Qubein holds directorship roles on the boards of several prominent organizations, including BB&T and the La-Z-Boy Corporation. His strategic vision and leadership have been integral to these roles.
