Family psychologist

Dr. Sylvia Rimm speaks and publishes nationally on family and school approaches to guiding children toward achievement and has gained a national following by her practical and commonsense advice. She directs Family Achievement Clinic at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation's Family Health Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and is a clinical professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Families come from all over the United States for help.

For the last seven years she has been appearing monthly on NBC’s The Today Show in a segment titled “Raising Kids For Today.” She hosts the popular national call-in program on public radio, called Family Talk With Sylvia Rimm, where she answers listeners' questions on parenting. Her newspaper column is syndicated nationally through Creators Syndicate. In April of 1998, she debuted as a columnist on Disney’s Family.com. She has been profiled in the New York Times and People Magazine and appeared on many other national and local television programs, including 20/20 and Oprah.

She is the author of many books including the New York Times’ Best Seller, See Jane Win: The Rimm Report on How 1000 Girls Became Successful Women , the sequel of which, How Jane Won , is scheduled for publication in March, 2001.

Based on her studies for these two books, Dr. Rimm can help women to resolve the dilemmas they face trying to juggle work and family life, while relieving their guilt and inspiring them towards patience and fulfillment. She is able to sensitize audiences to both the similarities and to the individual differnces among successful women and prove to them that women can live the American Dream.

Dr. Rimm is a dynamic speaker who fascinates audiences, speaking on many topics, tailoring her educational talks to the special themes of the audience. She has worked with a number of corporate clients including Hasbro, Sylvan Learning Center, Procter & Gamble, Kraft, Purina, Mattel and Beech Nut.
