First Gym Franchise Owner, Veteran & Author of "The Three Muscleteers"

Edward Krueger Connors, Jr. was born on May 6, 1945, in Omaha, Nebraska. After receiving a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Connors served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. On February 28, 1979, Connors, along with two partners, purchased the single Gold's Gym in Santa Monica, California.

On June 16, 1980, Connors opened up the first-ever gym franchise with Gold's Gym. Before exiting the company in 2004, the chain grew to become the largest gym chain in the world with 704 locations in 47 states and 26 countries. Connors is currently involved in promoting his memoir, "THE THREE MUSCLETEERS", and designing a new gym model for the post-pandemic era.
