Ed Kelly
Ed Kelly is president and chief executive officer of the American Express Publishing Corporation.
a wholly-owned subsidiary of the American Express Company. He oversees the Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, Departures, Travel + Leisure Golf, Travel + Leisure Family, Executive Travel, and Black Ink brands, in addition to a variety of businesses such as books, products, digital properties, events, and custom print and online programs, geared for the affluent market.
Having served as publisher of each of the magazines in the American Express Publishing stable, Kelly has a distinct and versatile experience since joining the company in 1989. Under his direction, American Express Publishing has delivered year-over-year record profit and growth. In addition to advertising, he has strengthened consumer marketing operations, web strategy, and the custom solutions division, now engaged in 60 partnerships. The company's international magazine presence spans 21 international editions covering over 50 territories in 10 languages, with the recent debut of Travel + Leisure Korea and Food & Wine China.
Before Kelly was appointed president and chief executive officer in 2000, he was senior vice president and group publisher of the Travel + Leisure brand, where he oversaw the launch of Travel + Leisure Golf and Travel + Leisure magazines. Kelly served as regional advertising director of Travel + Leisure in 1989, and in 1992 was promoted to associate publisher before he was named publisher of Departures in 1993. He became publisher of Food & Wine in 1994, and a year later moved to Travel + Leisure as publisher.
Prior to joining the company, Kelly worked at People in marketing services and at Field & Stream as advertising sales director.
Kelly currently serves on the boards of The Advertising Club of New York, Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, and the Magazine Publishers of America (MPA). He is a founding co-chair of the magazine industry's Magazine Marketing Coalition, a campaign promoting the power and effectiveness of magazines. A graduate of Rollins College, he is married and the father of three.
