Grammy Award-Winning British Singer-Songwriter & Guitarist; Founder, Gingerbread Man Records; Music Education Advocate

Ed Sheeran is a British singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his captivating melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and blend of pop, folk, and soul influences. Sheeran grew up in Framlingham, Suffolk, where he developed a passion for music at an early age. As a teenager, he moved to London to pursue his career, performing in small venues and releasing independent EPs that caught the attention of both fans and industry insiders. His breakthrough came in 2011 with appearances on the BBC music show "Later... with Jools Holland" and the release of his debut album, "+" (Plus), which included the chart-topping single "The A Team" and earned him widespread acclaim. Notably, "The A Team" was the best-selling debut single of 2011 in the UK.

Sheeran’s second album, "x" (Multiply), released in 2014, propelled him into international stardom. The album featured hits like "Thinking Out Loud" and "Sing," showcasing his signature acoustic sound mixed with more contemporary pop and hip-hop elements. "Thinking Out Loud" became a massive hit, earning Sheeran Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. His ability to craft emotionally resonant songs helped him develop a loyal fan base worldwide, and his talent as a songwriter led him to collaborate with major artists such as Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Beyoncé. His third album, "÷" (Divide), released in 2017, broke streaming records and included chart-topping singles like "Shape of You" and "Castle on the Hill," further cementing his place as one of the most successful artists of his generation.

In 2019, Sheeran released his fourth album, "No.6 Collaborations Project," which debuted at number one in multiple countries. Continuing his successful streak, he released his fifth studio album, "=" in 2021, which became his fifth UK number-one album. Later, he released his sixth studio album, "-" (Subtract), in 2023, followed by the release of "Autumn Variations" later that same year under his own record label, Gingerbread Man Records. In 2024, he released his tour collection album "+-=÷x."

He has supported various charitable causes, including youth music education and disaster relief efforts, and has frequently donated to his hometown community in Suffolk. He created the Ed Sheeran Foundation to aid in increasing access to higher-quality music education, and through its efforts, has supported grassroots music education organizations or state music departments that will improve access to instruments and lessons for thousands of children. In addition to his music, Sheeran has also made his mark in acting, having appearances in TV shows like "Game of Thrones," "And the Bastard Executioner," and movies including "Bridget Jones's Baby" and "Yesterday." His current career highlights include being named the Global Recording Artist of the Year in 2017, being declared the artist of the decade by the Official Charts Company in December 2019, and as of July 2024, being the 3rd most followed artist on Spotify.
