This entrepreneur has been focusing on the needs of Brazil since 2000, Between 2004 and 2010, he created and structured several companies: MMX (mining), MPX (energy), OGX (petroleum), LLX (logistics), and OSX (offshore marine industry).

Throughout the years, Batista has raised funds amounting to US$ 24 billion from Brazilian and foreign investors to support these endeavors. His group currently operates iron ore mines and oil prospecting rigs.

In 2011, three power plants will come into operation and oil production will begin in Rio de Janeiro's Campos Basin. 2011 also marks the group's return to gold mining in Colombia. 2012 will see operations beginning at two superports, a shipyard, and one more power plant.

Headquartered in Rio with operations in nine states, the group has offices in New York (USA), Colombia and Chile. Its operations and projects under construction currently generate 20,000 jobs - a total that should reach 40,000 in the coming years. The EBX Group also operates in the real estate industry through REX, its property development company in Brazil that focuses on urban projects and real estate asset investing.
