Eileen Dong: “In the Asian culture, we operate by the honor and shame system. What happens in the family, stays in the family, even if you are a victim. I have become the voice for the voiceless and a hope ambassador to show them the light at the end of the tunnel. I will keep fighting until everyone is free. I hope to become United Nations Goodwill Ambassador.”
Ms. Dong’s merits have been recognized by various government officials, such as the U.S. Congress, state governors, city councils, and mayors. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner also proclaimed January 19th as Eileen Dong Day.
Ms. Dong sits on various boards, advisory boards, committees, and coalitions throughout. She has been featured on over 115 television stations, media platforms in multiple languages and been heard by over 36.1 million listeners around the world.
