Designer in Smart Materials, Founder & CEO of Room One, Director of Emerging Tech at Dow Jones

Elena Corchero is a designer specializing in smart materials, electronics for wearables, and new prototyping technologies. Born in the Canary Islands, she studied Fine Arts in Spain, specialized in Interactive Design in Germany, and holds a Masters in Material Futures from Central Saint Martins College in London. She started her career as a researcher at MIT Media Lab Europe and has over 15 years of experience in R&D of Emerging Technologies.

In 2008, Corchero founded her studio Lost Values in London, aiming to integrate new technologies with traditional craftsmanship and sustainability. The studio evolved to create innovative brands such as LFLECT, ZIPPYKIT, and ECOLORIUM, which supports skin cancer research. She has developed smart textiles for prestigious clients including Guinness, Cadbury, Hugo Boss, and the London Olympics 2012. She joined Omnicom's Drum to set up "THE HIVE – Making Tomorrow," highlighting her continuous impact on technological innovation.

Corchero is also the Founder & CEO of Room One, a Design & Technology Lab, and serves as the Director of Emerging Tech at Dow Jones Live. She is recognized as a leading innovator in wearable technology and has been involved in significant projects with companies like Ericsson, Unilever, and Tate Modern. Her efforts in the field have led to numerous accolades, including being named the 2nd most disruptive business by Duke of York's "Pitch@Palace." A committed educator, she delivers engaging talks internationally, focusing on the evolving landscape of innovation. Fluent in English and Spanish and conversational in German, Corchero continues to influence the tech industry significantly.
