In his best-selling book, "The Leadership Engine," he has distilled the results of his extensive research on successful organizations and identified the essential qualities of great leadership: vision, values and energy; the courage to risk current security for a better future; and, especially, the commitment to teach others to be leaders, as well. In The Leadership Engine, Cohen and his coauthor propose that winning corporations are distinguished by their ability to cultivate leadership at every level and ultimately create a pool of homegrown talent that can be drawn on whenever management jobs need to be filled. Based on extensive consultations with such leading companies as PepsiCo, Royal Dutch/Shell, and Ford Motor Company, "The Leadership Engine" helps businesses foster a corporate atmosphere that nurtures leadership and initiative.

Cohen has studied effective leadership in diverse organizations, from businesses in all industries to the U.S. military's Special Operations Forces. As a consultant, he has created leadership and action learning programs for clients worldwide. In addition to writing and teaching, he has worked with two leading investment firms, putting his money where his mouth is by selecting companies and entrepreneurs for investment and then working with them to guide their success. Prior to his association with Accel Partners, Eli worked with Ziff Brothers Investments, a multi-billion dollar private and public equity investment firm where his investments spanned technology, health care, and emerging markets.

Eli Cohen is a Professor of Computerized Management Information Systems at the Leon Kozminski Academy of Entrepreneurship and Management (Poland) and Director of Informing Science Institute (U.S).
