Elisa Fortise Christensen

Author, Poet & Motivational Speaker

Elisa Christensen is an American author, poet and motivational speaker.

After breaking her fifth lumbar in early adolescence, she went on to live the bulk of her adult life on doctor-prescribed opiates. In her late twenties, she became a triathlete and completed 14 triathlons across California.  She endured two 2-level fusion surgeries in her early thirties.

In her late forties, after 30 years on opiates, the last 11 on Fentanyl patches, she detoxed herself cold-turkey off Fentanyl and Percocet. She frequently performs her poem, ""Our Greatest Affliction"" in various venues across California.

Through her book, ""The Fentanyl Warrior: How I Got Off And Stayed Off Opiates,"" as well as speaking engagements, she shares what she learned through her extensive research about the biology and psychology of the addicted brain, as well as the spiritual and emotional changes that need to take place to end the addictive cycle behind...for good.

Christensen's second book in her Warrior Series, "The Teen Warrior: Raising Addiction Resistant Kids," was released in 2020 and contains two years' worth of research that includes in depth interviews with young adults in recovery. All of Christensen's books, poetry and speaking engagements resonate with her powerful message: how we can become true warriors in our own life stories.
