Kornack got her kitchen experience at The Spotted Pig and Acquavit; in 2013, she and her wife Anna Hieronimus opened Take Root. By 2014, the restaurant had earned a Michelin Star. In 2015, the couple were named to the Zagat 30 Under 30 and Kornack was nominated for a James Beard Rising Star Chef Award.
