Elizabeth Gutiérrez was born in Los Angeles, on April 1, 1979, and was raised in this city, in a very tight-knit Mexican family. She is the youngest of six girls (and one brother), whose parents are from Jalisco and Durango. She, herself, spent five years in Jalisco, where she attended primary school until the age of 10.

Even though Elizabeth began working as a clerk in a law firm, she was very soon following her dream of acting in soaps. Her first acting experience was in the popular 2003 reality show on Telemundo, "Protagonistas de Novela," (Soap Stars) in which she played herself. She then continued her studies of acting, voice, improvisation, diction and singing.

Gutiérrez' first acting job, in 2005, was as "Isabella", one of the main roles in the soap opera "Olvidarte Jamás" (Forget you Never). In a short while (2006-2007), she had another lead role in "Acorralada" (Cornered), and in 2007-2008, was a lead actress in "Amor Comprado" (Love for Sale). In 2008, she returned to Telemundo to play two rolls in "El Rostro de Analía" (Analia's Face), a soap which reportedly aired in 95 countries around the world.

Her role in this soap was followed, in 2009-2010, by "Corazón salvaje" (Savage Heart), and in 2010-2011, "El fantasma de Elena" (Elena's Ghost), in which she played Elena. Her latest soap (2012) is "Reflejos del Alma" (Reflections of the Soul). In just a short span of time, Elizabeth Gutiérrez has evolved into an experienced actress with a promising future ahead of her.

Although Elizabeth Gutiérrez is best known for her many roles in soap operas on Telemundo, it is also worth remembering that she was in an 8-year relationship with the model and actor, William Levy, whom she met on the reality show, "Protagonistas de Novela," and with whom she had two children, Christopher Alexander, born in 2006, and Kailey Alexandra, born in 2010. The couple ended their relationship in 2011.
