Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins & 2019 President of the American Association for Cancer Research; Expert in Breast Cancer & Pancreatic Cancer Immunology

Dr. Elizabeth M. Jaffee is an international leader in the development of immune-based therapies for pancreatic and breast cancers. Jaffee holds six cancer vaccine patents & hopes her research will continue to turn once-deadly cancers into chronic diseases.

Elizabeth Jaffee, MD, is deputy director of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore; associate director of the Bloomberg~Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy at Johns Hopkins; the Dana and Albert “Cubby” Broccoli professor of oncology; professor of pathology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; active staff in oncology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital; associate director for translational research, co-director of gastrointestinal cancer and diseases program, and co-director of the Skip Viragh Center for Pancreas Cancer Clinical Research and Patient Care; and member of the faculty, Graduate Programs in Immunology, Cellular and Molecular Medicine, and Pharmacology, at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She also served as the President of the American Association for Cancer Research in 2019.

Jaffee is chair (2016-present) and member (2013-present) of the National Cancer Advisory Board for the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and co-chair of the NCI Blue Ribbon Panel for the National Cancer Moonshot Initiative (2016-present). An active member of the AACR, Jaffee was elected to the Board of Directors (2013-2016). Her contributions to the AACR have been vast and far-reaching. She was awarded the 2018 WebMD Health Heroes "Game Changer" Award.
