Elliot Page

Actor Known For His Roles in "Juno" & "Inception"

Elliot Page is a celebrated actor known for standout roles in "Juno" and "Inception." Raised by a teacher and a graphic designer, Page developed a passion for theater early on, participating in local productions as a child. Page's acting career began with the made-for-TV movie "Pit Pony" in 1997, for which he earned a Gemini nomination, one of Canada’s most prestigious honors. Page continued to appear in various Canadian television series, including "Trailer Park Boys" and "ReGenesis," and gained further recognition for their role in the award-winning film Marion Bridge.

Page first caught the attention of American audiences in the Lifetime movie "Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story," but the 2005 indie thriller "Hard Candy" really thrust Page into the spotlight. Their intense portrayal of a 14-year-old victim-turned-attacker won praise from critics and led to a role as Kitty Pryde in "X-Men: The Last Stand." However, Page’s breakout performance in 2007’s "Juno" truly made them a household name. Their portrayal of a witty, vulnerable pregnant teen earned Page international fame and an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.

Following the success of Juno, Page took on a variety of roles, from the star of quirky comedies like "Smart People" and "Whip It" to more serious films such as "Inception" alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Page also explored voiceover work, contributing to television shows like "Glenn Martin DDS" and "Family Guy," and voicing the protagonist Jodie Holmes in the video game "Beyond: Two Souls." Page later reprised their role in "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

In 2014, Page publicly came out as gay during a speech at the Time to THRIVE conference, which focused on issues facing the LGBTQ community. In December 2020, Page further shared their journey by coming out as transgender and non-binary, adopting the name Elliot Page. Page starred in Netflix's popular series "The Umbrella Academy," and in 2023, he appeared in the independent drama "Close to You," a film centered on themes of love, family, and identity. Page is currently producing a documentary about the trailblazing Black trans singer Jackie Shane.
