Emma Grede

Founder & CEO of Good American & Founding Partner of Skims

Emma Grede is the CEO of Good American, the size-inclusive fashion brand she cofounded with Khloe Kardashian in 2016 and that plans to open its first store in Los Angeles this summer. She is a founding partner and chief product officer of Kim Kardashian's shapewear brands Skims, for which Grede's husband is CEO. She is also a cofounder, with Kris Jenner, of plant-based cleaning brand Safely. Raised in East London by a single mother, Grede started a paper route at age 12 and saved her pennies to buy fashion magazines.

She founded fashion and entertainment marketing agency ITB Worldwide in 2008 and is the first Black woman to serve as an investor on the popular ABC series Shark Tank. She is chairwoman of the Fifteen Percent Pledge, an initiative that encourages retailers to shift 15% of their shelf space to Black owned brands.

For the first time in the 12-year history of “Shark Tank,” a Black woman is sitting in one of the investment chairs. Emma Grede, the 39-year-old co-founder and CEO of denim-brand Good American and founding partner of Kim Kardashian’s shapewear-apparel line SKIMS, is set to appear as a guest Shark on Friday’s season 13 premiere of the ABC business reality show. Grede, the show’s first-ever Black woman investor, will join returning Sharks Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O’Leary and Lori Greiner.
