Emma has danced around the world. She has danced in various theater productions and movies.

In 2012 she joined Dancing with the Stars as a troupe dancer. Three seasons later, she was promoted to the role of a female professional dancer. She has stayed in this role since season 17, only missing one season.

In 2008, Slater was featured in the Universal Pictures movie "Mamma Mia!"
