Eric Ben-Artzi

Deutsche Bank Whistleblower

Eric Ben-Artzi is a former Deutsche Bank risk officer, and one of three whistleblowers who reported improper accounting at the German bank to regulators in 2010 and 2011.

Specifically, he raised alarm on Deutsche Bank overvaluing its derivatives portfolio in order to hide billions in potential trading losses.

In 2015, the US Securities and Exchange Commission imposed a $55 million fine against the bank over the issue. Ben-Artzi was due to a share of 15% of this sum, adding up to $8.25 million, yet he rejected the payout.

Prior to Deutsche Bank, Eric worked as a trader at Citigroup and as a quantitative strategist for Goldman Sachs.

He currently works for an Israeli fintech company called BondIT, which seeks to improve the world of bond-investing, especially for small and medium investors.

He graduated from Hebrew University with a B.Sc. in mathematics and received his Ph.D. in mathematics from the Courant Institute at NYU.
