Eric Bischoff
WWE Hall of Famer & Former President of World Championship Wrestling; Host of "83 Weeks" & "Wise Choices"
Eric Bischoff made his initial footing in professional wrestling with the American Wrestling Association (AWA) in 1986. His career took a major leap in 1991 when he joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as a C-show announcer. By 1993, Bischoff had ascended to the role of Executive Producer of WCW, and a year later, he was promoted to Senior Vice President. His most notable achievement came in 1997 when he became the President of WCW. Bischoff's creative vision led to the inception of the New World Order (nWo) storyline, which played a pivotal role in WCW's success during the Monday Night War.
Despite the downfall of WCW in 1998, Bischoff's career did not wane. He was hired by WWE in 2002 to serve as the general manager of Raw, a position he held for three years, making him the second longest-reigning general manager in WWE history. During his tenure, he introduced innovative concepts such as "Raw Roulette" and the Elimination Chamber, and engaged in memorable feuds with prominent figures such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shane McMahon, John Cena, Stephanie McMahon, and Paul Heyman. Bischoff continued his wrestling journey with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in 2010, where he served as the executive producer.
Aside from his wrestling exploits, Bischoff has diversified his career portfolio with ventures in other industries. He ran his own production company, Bischoff Hervey Entertainment, which produced reality TV shows, and formed the online gaming company MX Digital in 2013. He also started a brewing company in Cody, Wyoming in 2011, and launched his podcast show, "Bischoff on Wrestling," in 2016. Bischoff's contributions to the wrestling industry were recognized when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021. In 2024, he announced a YouTube series, "Wise Choices," following the concluding of his podcast "Strictly Business." He continues to host his main podcast, "83 Weeks."
