Eric Drew

Founder of the "CrowdHealing Movement" at WeHeal.org, Nationally Recognized Leukemia (Stem Cell) Survivor, Medical and Privacy Rights (anti-identity theft) Advocate, Writer, Speaker, Spokesperson, Silicon Valley Entrepreneur, and Angel Investor

Eric Drew was on his deathbed with a rare and virulent form of leukemia. And then he got a telephone call—not from his parents or his girlfriend, but from a collections agency. Suddenly the fight of his life was not just about beating terminal illness, but beating the system as well—he was the target of identity theft and forced to try to solve the crime himself, ultimately leading to a hospital employee who knew his dire diagnosis. Refusing to be a victim of his disease or of his circumstances, Eric ultimately emerged cancer-free and on the forefront of the fight against the thieves who target consumers and the financial and credit industries who, as Eric found, do little to protect their customers and often actually profit from this heinous crime. Eric inspires people to fight the rising identity theft epidemic as if their lives, as his did, depend on it.

At the podium, Eric captures and motivates by using the lessons learned from his miraculous comeback to inspire people to take charge of their lives, stay focused on their intentions, and rise above the limitations put on us by society. His story has been featured on ABC News, Dateline NBC, CNN, Fox News, and on the cover of most major news publications in the US. He has become a national advocate and expert on patient rights, stem cell research, and the identity theft epidemic. Eric ultimately won a major victory in the fight against identity theft as the first person to force such a federal criminal conviction. He is currently producing and hosting two television shows on identity theft, and continues to appear as an expert guest at conferences and on a variety of high profile talk shows.

His remarkable life chain of events began as an infant, when he was given to the State of Texas at birth in the midst of a devastating hurricane that demolished the South Texas coast. As an adoptee, Eric’s struggle for survival hinged on finding his half-siblings for a cutting-edge half-match bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately this procedure failed, but it kept him alive long enough to hunt down a breakthrough procedure he had not been offered by the medical system in the US. Eric is now miraculously living due to a cutting edge stem cell transplant using the umbilical chord and placenta blood from a newborn baby girl found in a blood bank in Italy.

Eric is a former VP of several Silicon Valley global software and banking firms, a high school football quarterback, runway model, and beauty pageant producer. Today Eric divides his time between being the Director of the Eric Drew Foundation (saving lives and assisting terminally ill patients and their families) and a Founder of Knightsbridge Castle, a non-profit foundation and company formed by other identity theft victims, Stanford Criminologists, law enforcement officials, and high level Silicon Valley executives to combat the growing threat of this malicious, life-destroying crime.
