Eric LeMarque

International Best-Selling Author, Olympic World-Champion & Inspiration for the Movie "6 Below"

Eric LeMarque is an American-French author, former professional ice hockey player, and inspirational speaker. His significant experience includes competing at the 1994 Winter Olympics as a part of the French national ice hockey team. Moreover, his sporting success includes claiming three consecutive national championships in France from 1994 to 1996.

LeMarque's professional hockey career came to a close in the 1999-2000 season, after which he shifted his focus towards snowboarding, aiming to participate in the X Games. However, in 2004, he found himself trapped in the Sierra Nevada Mountains wilderness. For eight days, he managed to survive in a makeshift igloo, subsisting on pine nuts and cedar. This ordeal in sub-freezing temperatures, which saw him dubbed "The Miracle-Man" by his National Guard rescuers, resulted in him losing both his legs due to severe frostbite.

Still, his determination remained unscathed. To mark the first anniversary of his amputations, LeMarque snowboarded Mammoth Mountain using prosthetics. His extraordinary survival story and his battle against a methamphetamine addiction have since been shared in his book "Crystal Clear" and inspired the 2017 movie 6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain.

LeMarque has appeared on numerous national news network programs and has been quoted in countless publications worldwide. In his speeches, he recounts his awe-inspiring tale, aiming to inspire audiences to discover their inner strengths and stretch their boundaries of endurance, courage, and perseverance.

Currently, LeMarque resides in Ventura, California, and is available for a variety of engagements, including school functions, company meetings, celebrity events, organizational events, conventions, team-building, youth and professional sports, churches, groups, and clubs globally.
