Author of "Mission Black List #1: Capturing Saddam", Security Consultant & Military Veteran

Eric Maddox is a recipient of the National Intelligence Medal of Achievement, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Director’s Award, Legion of Merit, and Bronze Star, for his direct role in the capture of Saddam Hussein.

In 2003, Eric Maddox collected the intelligence which led to the exact location of Saddam Hussein – the Ace of Spades in the infamous Deck of Cards.

Eric was awarded Legion of Merit for exceptional meritorious achievement from 8 November 2003 to 13 December 2003 while attached to a cross-functional team. While he served as an interrogator in support of operation Iraqi Freedom, his actions were pivotal in achieving the extrication of actionable intelligence from numerous detainees. Eric's interrogation mapping methods led to the successful detention of various Iraqi former regime leaders and the capture of Saddam Hussein. Staff Sergeant Maddox’s distinctive accomplishments are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the Joint Special Operations Command, and the United States Army.
