Eric Nguyen, a computer scientist and doctoral student at Stanford University, is at the forefront of AI and biology, advancing genomic research and gene editing through the development of systems capable of reading and writing DNA. His groundbreaking work at Stanford includes creating genomic foundation models like Evo and HyenaDNA, which have transformed our ability to process and design long DNA sequences, paving the way for new breakthroughs in biology and medicine.

Nguyen has interned at Google Research, Adobe Research, and Facebook AI.

Nguyen holds several degrees: a BS from University of California, Berkeley and an MS from Stanford University, both in Civil & Environmental Engineering; an MEng in Computer Science from Cornell University; and a PhD from Stanford in AI and Bioengineering.
