Erin Kennedy      

Erin Kennedy is co-anchor of CBS 2 Chicago’s weekday morning.

Since December 2011, Kennedy has worked as an anchor/reporter for WKYC-TV in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was the station’s lead anchor/reporter for its coverage of the Cleveland kidnapping victims. Also while at WKYC, Kennedy and her colleagues won an Emmy and a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for their coverage of the Chardon School shooting. Kennedy joined WKYC-TV after working as an anchor/reporter at WPRI and WNAC-TV in Providence, Rhode Island from 2005-11. She started as a weekend evening anchor, and in 2006 was promoted to anchor/reporter for the stations’ weeknight evening newscasts. Additionally, she was WPRI-TV’s webcast producer and anchor – Webcast en Español – an online newscast in Spanish. Kennedy began her career in 2003 as a weekend anchor/reporter for KAMC-TV in Lubbock, Texas. After six months on the job, she was promoted to weekday anchor/reporter at the station and anchored its two-and-a-half-hour weekday morning newscast and guest co-hosted the Spanish language show, Si Se Puede. Kennedy graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. A member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, she has reported from Mexico and done extensive reporting on immigration and the drug trade. Kennedy, who has family in the Chicago area, and her husband, Matthew, celebrated the birth of their first child, Elliot, earlier this year.
