Eugene Profit founded Profit Investments in 1996, and has overall management responsibility for the firm and client portfolios. Profit Investments is an asset management firm serving institutional clients investing in U.S. equities. We manage large-cap, small-cap and socially responsible portfolios. All products are also available for separate accounts.

Eugene’s unique investment philosophy and approach to valuation-sensitive growth investing have made him the subject of many profiles in financial media including Business Week, Smart Money, Black Enterprise, Pension & Investments and Investor’s Business Daily. He’s also been a frequent guest on several cable news outlets including Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox News Channel and CNN.

Eugene graduated from Yale University with a B. A. in Economics. He was an All American at Yale – playing football and running track. In fact, he still holds the university record for the Long Jump. After Yale, Eugene played three seasons with the New England Patriots and two with the Washington Redskins before a hamstring injury forced him to retire in 1991. He then began his career in finance as a broker with Legg Mason before forming Profit Investments.

As one of five children growing up in South Central Los Angeles, Eugene is keenly aware of the sacrifices his mother made to make sure he completed college and he is committed to “giving back.” He founded the Profit Charitable Foundation and personally donated $200,000 to help young minority students pay for college. In 2011, the Profit Charitable Foundation raised almost $40,000 for two nonprofit organizations dedicated to providing essentials such as food, after-school tutoring and healthcare options to local children and families in need.

“Giving back” is a key part of who Eugene is – his motto is, “Helping kids see more, do more and be more — if you have the exposure to see what’s out there, that will enable you to do more with your life and inspire you to be more!”
