Eve Ewing      

Sociologist of Education & Assistant Professor at the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago

Dr. Eve Ewing is a writer and sociologist of education. She is the author of Ghosts in the Schoolyard: Racism and School Closings on Chicago's South Side. Ewing also wrote electric Arches, which received awards from the American Library Association and the Poetry Society of America. It was also named one of the year's best books by NPR and the Chicago Tribune. Along with Nate Marshall, she is the co-author of the play No Blue Memories: The Life of Gwendolyn Brooks. Ewing also writes the Ironheart series for Marvel Comics, and her work has been published in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The New York Times, and many more.

Currently, Ewing is an assistant professor at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and her doctorate from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
