Fall Out Boy

American Rock Band; "Thnks fr th Mmrs" & "Sugar, We're Going Down"

Formed in 2001, Fall Out Boy quickly made a name for themselves in the pop-punk music scene. The band's original members, Pete Wentz and Joe Trohman, began their journey in the Chicago suburbs and gave their first public performance in a DePaul University cafeteria. They quickly gained momentum with their debut album "Take This To Your Grave," released in 2003, and were notably active in the early days of social media, using it as a platform to gain fame and connect with their growing fan base. Their relentless determination saw them performing at any available show, even if cancellations occurred.

As their popularity grew, so did their success. Their 2005 album "From Under The Cork Tree" was a commercial hit, reaching number nine on the Billboard 200 chart, and the single "Sugar, We're Goin Down" reached number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. They followed this up with their 2007 album "Infinity on High," which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and sold over two million copies worldwide. The band continued to evolve their sound, incorporating different musical styles, and their wide-ranging influences and unique sound connected with a teenage audience, making them popular among teenagers in North America. Their dedication to their craft saw them touring extensively, making TV appearances, and even earning a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.

Even during a break in 2009, when band members pursued individual interests, their bond remained strong. Returning in 2013 with "Save Rock and Roll," Fall Out Boy's comeback was a resounding success, with the album debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Their recent work, such as the 2023 album "So Much (For) Stardust," has seen them collaborate with big names like Taylor Swift, further showcasing their versatility and influence in the music industry. Having been nominated for multiple awards throughout their career and even being the most nominated band in history for the "Best Rock Video" category at the MTV Video Music Awards, Fall Out Boy's impact on the pop-punk genre is undeniable.
