A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, actor Finn Wolfhard stars as Mike Wheeler in the critically acclaimed Netflix Original Series "Stranger Things." The hit series has received various accolades, including a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series; two MTV Movie & TV Awards for Show of the Year; an AFI award for TV Program of the Year; and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Drama Television Series. To date, the series has received 30 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including two for Outstanding Drama Series. He has also voiced roles in animated series like "Carmen Sandiego" and "NEW-GEN."
Wolfhard made his big-screen debut as Richie Tozier in the film adaptation of Stephen King's horror novel It and reprised his role in its sequel It: Chapter Two. He has featured in various other films, such as Boris Pavlikovsky in the drama film The Goldfinch, the voice of Pugsley Addams in The Addams Family, Miles in the supernatural horror film The Turning, and Trevor in the supernatural film Ghostbusters: Afterlife. He has also starred in the anthology film Omniboat: A Fast Boat Fantasia and made his directorial debut with the comedy short film "Night Shifts." His portfolio grew with films that include the stop-motion animated musical film Pinocchio and the theatrical feature film Hell of a Summer, where he served as a co-director, co-writer, and co-star.
As a musician, Wolfhard was the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter for the rock band Calpurnia. He is currently a member of The Aubreys and has appeared in music videos by various bands, including PUP and Weezer. His work in music extends to directing, with his first co-directed music video released in 2017. Beyond his acting and musical endeavors, Wolfhard has been involved in advocacy for autism and indigenous children, hosting a benefit concert to raise funds for Sweet Relief and receiving an award for his work with the organization. His significant impacts in the industry have earned him spots in Variety's Hollywood Youth Impact Report, The Hollywood Reporter's top 30 stars under age 18, and in Forbes 30 Under 30 class of 2020 in the field of Hollywood and entertainment.
