Former Championship Head Coach of the Los Angeles Lakers

Frank Vogel recently completed his first season as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, leading the team to the 2020 NBA Championship, the 17th title in the franchise’s history. Prior to his time in Los Angeles Lakers, Vogel served as Head Coach of the Indiana Pacers (2010-2016) and Orlando Magic (2016-2018).

Vogel began his Indiana tenure as an assistant and ended it with the most wins in franchise history. In between, he was named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month four times, and coaches the 2014 Eastern Conference All-Stars. Vogel’s Indiana teams made the playoffs five times in six seasons, including back-to-back Eastern Conference Finals appearances in 2013 and 2014.

Under Vogel’s direction, the Pacers ranked among the NBA’s top 10 in defensive rating for all six years, and boasted the league’s top-ranked defense from 2012-2014.

Vogel went 250-181 in Indiana and 54-110 as head coach of Orlando.

A longtime NBA fixture, Vogel has experience as an assistant coach for Boston (2001-2004), Philadelphia (2004-2005), and Indiana (2007-2011). He also worked a season for the Lakers as an advanced scout in 2005-2006.

Vogel is married and with his wife has two daughters.
