Head Football Coach of Penn State Nittany Lions

In 2014 Penn State named James Franklin their new head coach after a successful three-year stint at Vanderbilt University. His path to coaching in the SEC and Big Ten Conference was the accumulation of 20 years experience coaching at the collegiate and NFL level. His collegiate coaching career includes stops at James Madison, Washington State, Idaho State, Maryland and Kansas State as an assistant, where he served as a wide receivers and quarterback coach as well as offensive coordinator. In 2005 he briefly got a taste of the pro game when the Green Bay Packers hired him to coach their wide receivers. During his three seasons at Vanderbilt he coached the Commodores to two 9-4 seasons in 2012 and 2013 and consecutive bowl wins in the Music City and BBVA Compass Bowls.
