From 1997 to 2007, he authored 14 books on Art Education and published over 70 books under his publishing trademarks Gardner's Guide and Career Diary.

His work has been exhibited in notable venues such as the James E. Lewis Museum of Art, the Paterson Museum in New Jersey, and the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts in St. Croix. Gardner’s art has been featured on CNN's "Larry King Live," in the "New York Times," and on Universal Records pop culture album covers. His notable pieces include "Elements of Hope," a collage on Barack Obama, and "Haiti: Hope for the Children," which was created to raise funds following the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

Gardner has served as a professor at institutions like William Paterson University and George Mason University. He has been an influential speaker and presenter, engaging with audiences at over 50 high schools and numerous colleges worldwide. Additionally, he has functioned as an art consultant for several organizations, including the New York Board of Education and the Fashion Institute of Technology.
