Al Bernstein          

Al Bernstein. American writer. Stage performer. Recording artist. Radio host. Boxing analyst.

Al Bernstein wrote for Ring Magazine and Boxing Illustrated, in the 1970's.  From 1974-1979, he was the managing editor of Lerner Newspapers inChicago.  He wrote Boxing for Beginners in 1980, which is an instructional-historical book on boxing.  Bernstein also joined ESPN as a boxing analyst in 1980.

In 1988, Bernstein recorded his first album, "My Very Own Songs" with original songs about television and sports. He started his live stage performer career with a musical show atCaesarsPalace.

Bernstein was the boxing analyst for NBC's coverage of the Summer Olympic Games in 1992 and 1996. From 1999-2002, he served as a sports anchor for Fox 5 News inLas Vegas.

Bernstein is currently a boxing analyst for Showtime and writes essays called "Bernstein on Boxing" which air every Tuesday on ESPN Classic, and he hosts The Al Bernstein Sports Party on ESPN Radio 920 inLas Vegas.
