Gaby Darbyshire was COO of Gawker Media from 2004 until 2013. She was responsible for Finance, Legal, HR, Business/Corporate Development, and Operations. Darbyshire has over 15 years of experience in the internet sector: previously, she was the Chief Operating Officer at Oriel Wines, launching a new wine brand with operations in 10+ countries; Director of Strategy at 4charity.com, a tech provider for the non-profit industry; and Director of Strategy and Legal Affairs at eGroups (now Yahoo!Groups). Prior to joining the startup scene in 1999, she was a management consultant in the high tech and financial services industries and, originally, was a barrister in the United Kingdom.
