Gale King is a corporate director, retired c-suite executive, community leader, speaker and author who is passionate about the power of a strong, inclusive culture in driving shareholder and stakeholder value. As the retired Executive Vice President – Chief Administrative Officer for Nationwide, she was responsible for Human Resources, DEI, Corporate Real Estate, Corporate Security and Aviation.

She made lasting and meaningful impact throughout her 37-year career by evolving human resources strategies, policies, and benefits which created a more engaged and inclusive culture. Recognition include Fortune 100 best companies to work for, Fortune Most Admired Companies, Forbes Diversity Award, Gallup’s Great Workplace Award, Black Enterprise Diversity and Inclusion, Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index, the Human Rights Campaign – Corporate Equality Index, Latina Style 50 Best, Catalyst award winner.

King is a member of the board of directors of AutoZone, Unum Group and JB. Hunt, where she serves on the compensation and nominating/governance committees. She is also a member and the current board chair for the Executive Leadership Council (ELC), the preeminent global membership organization for Black CEOs, senior executives, board members and entrepreneurs. She also serves as a board trustee (and former board cChair) for the University of Florida Foundation. Ms. King has been widely recognized to include, Ebony’s Power 100 list, University of Florida Distinguished Alumna Award, United Way Community Leadership Award, HR Executive, Black Enterprise Legacy Award, Black Enterprise Corporate America’s Most Powerful Executive, YWCA – Woman of Achievement, National Urban League - Woman of Power, Nationwide’s Woman of Achievement award and The Gale King Promise award.

King is actively involved in her community with a passion for organization’s supporting homelessness, children, and the elderly. An education advocate, she has endowed scholarships at the University of Florida and Sante Fe Community College. She believes that it is our responsibility to be a catalyst for positive change with our time, talent, resources, and kindness. She is a proud graduate of the University of Florida with a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
