Equitable Society Builder, Social Justice Innovator & Speaker, CEO of Codas Societies

Garance Choko is an Equitable Society Builder, Speaker, and Founder/ CEO of Coda Societies. With her unique combination of talents and skills, she has created her own success story while also making positive and lasting changes in the world. Born in Paris into a Caribbean and Jewish family, her journey began at an early age when she discovered her passion for the piano and began performing at the age of five. She graduated early from high school and even spent time in Cuba, where she continued training as a concert pianist while pursuing her passion for public administration, innovation, and social impact.

After being awarded a scholarship, she moved to the United States to study piano and political science. She continued to hone her performance skills while pursuing a Master of Public Administration from Cornell University. Throughout her career, she has held various positions, including working on Capitol Hill. In 2017, she founded Coda Societies, which promotes global social justice and equity by reshaping physical and economic infrastructures such as national healthcare systems, economic development plans for cities and regions, and policy institutes for Heads of State.

Her impressive client list includes The Sundance Institute, the Mastercard Foundation, the Aspen Institute, the Africa Center, the National Ministry of Planning of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the National Health System (NHS) of the United Kingdom, the MacArthur Foundation, and the Royal Society for Arts (RSA).

Choko currently resides in New York City, where she also serves as Producer and Host of ‘A Propos,’ a podcast in English presented by the French Consulate of New York. She continues to play the piano.

She is a founding member of CHIEF and a seasoned speaker, having been a lecturer at Cornell, giving a keynote address at Brown, and delivering guest lectures at Harvard, Barnard, and Yale.

She is a proud board member at Sing for Hope, Future of Cities, and the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
