Gary Allan
Country Music Artist Known for "Nothing On But The Radio" & "Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain)"
With a career spanning over two decades, Gary Allan Herzberg, known as Gary Allan, has firmly established himself in the American country music landscape. Rising from humble beginnings in Southern California, Allan's musical journey began with a unique opportunity - a demo tape left in a car led to a trip to Nashville funded by a wealthy couple. His career officially took off in 1996 with the release of his debut single, "Her Man." Since then, Allan has released ten studio and greatest hits albums, each demonstrating his distinctive Bakersfield-influenced style, a nod to country legends Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Notably, Allan's music has a traditional country sound, which sets him apart from the more commercially dominant pop or rock-oriented country music.
Allan's discography is not just extensive, but also highly successful. He has had 26 singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, with five of these reaching the coveted number-one spot. His albums have consistently performed well, with three debuting at number one on the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums charts. Allan has three platinum and five gold albums and has sold seven million in total. Also noteworthy is Allan's success in live performances, with notable appearances at venues like the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, and the House of Blues in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Allan's popularity is reflected in his gold and platinum album certifications and his strong following on streaming platforms, boasting 1.2 million Spotify monthly listeners.
Yet, Allan's journey has not been without personal hardships. Most notably, the tragic death of his third wife by suicide deeply affected him. This tragedy found its way into his music, with his deeply personal album "Tough All Over" released in the aftermath. Despite these challenges, Allan has continually returned to his music, recently releasing his tenth album, "Ruthless." His resilience, coupled with his distinctive musical style and undeniable success, make Allan a compelling figure in the country music industry.
