Gavin Patterson is a British marketer who is the President and Chief Revenue Officer of Salesforce. He was chief executive of BT Group plc from September 2013 to January 2019. Before joining BT, he worked at Telewest and Procter & Gamble.

Patterson joined Salesforce in 2019, initially as Chair of Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia Pacific (EMEA), Salesforce's fastest-growing regions globally. In early 2020, Patterson was named President and CEO of Salesforce International, leading the company’s go-to-market strategy across all international regions. He later assumed the role of president and chief revenue officer of Salesforce.com, Inc., leading the CRM company’s global sales organization.

As Chief Executive Officer of BT Group, Patterson led the continued rollout of superfast fibre broadband – the fastest rollout in the world – which reached over three-quarters of the UK. He also initiated the deployment of ultrafast fibre-to-the-home technology. His leadership saw the completion of BT's entry into content with the launch of "BT Sport" and led the development of BT’s market-leading cybersecurity practice. He negotiated the £15 billion acquisition of EE, transforming BT into the UK’s leading converged communications provider. Patterson also championed BT’s globally recognized social purpose agenda covering sustainability, volunteering, and tech literacy in schools.

In addition to his corporate roles, Patterson is a Non-Executive Director at British Airways plc, a Trustee of the British Museum, and serves on the board of the charity Movement to Work. He is a Vice President of the Royal Television Society and a fellow of the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals. He graduated from Cambridge University with a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering.
