Geoff Johns, one of the most prolific and popular of contemporary comic book writers has written highly acclaimed stories starring Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Teen Titans, and Justice Society of America. He is the author of the New York Times bestselling graphic novels BLACKEST NIGHT, GREEN LANTERN: RAGE OF THE RED LANTERNS, GREEN LANTERN: SINESTRO CORPS WAR, JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA: THY KINGDOM COME and SUPERMAN: BRAINIAC.

Johns was named Chief Creative Officer of the newly-formed DC Entertainment in February 2010. This announcement coincided with the revealing of the new executive team.

Johns was born in Detroit and studied media arts, screenwriting, film production and theory at Michigan State University. After moving to Los Angeles, he worked as an intern and later an assistant for film director Richard Donner, whose credits include Superman: The Movie, Lethal Weapon 4 and Conspiracy Theory.

He began his comics career creating and writing Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. for DC Entertainment. Geoff received the Wizard Fan Award for Breakout Talent of 2002 and Writer of the Year for 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. He won the Spike TV Scream Award for Best Comic Book Writer in 2010. Geoff has also been nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Writer.

Johns has also written for various other media, including the acclaimed "Legion" and “Absolute Justice” episodes of SMALLVILLE and for the fourth season of ROBOT CHICKEN. He also wrote the story of the DC Universe™ Online (DCUO) massively multiplayer action game from Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE).

Johns currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
