Executive Producer at CBS Television Studios, Visual Effects Producer & Virtual Reality Developer

George Bloom has a passion for art and science. He is the executive producer at CBS Digital, the visual effects team responsible for producing award winning work on television series such as: Netflix’s "Daredevil", “Glow” “Orange is the New Black” and NBC’s “This is Us” George was also nominated for an Emmy for Netflix’s Stranger Things. He and his colleagues develop proprietary tools for production and execute custom content for Virtual Reality.

His TEDx talk on “How the Metaverse will change Filmmaking” was an insightful vision of the future. George grew up in a house filled with laughter as his father wrote comedy shows: "All in The Family," "Welcome Back Kotter," "Chico and the Man" and "Jonathan Winters." His father taught him one guiding principal: “It’s not what you know, it’s how you use your imagination.”

George previously served as Vice President of creative content at Walt Disney Pictures and also was VP of Special Ops at 20th Century Fox Film Studios. He built strategic marketing plans for all media platforms and produced original animation for the movies: "Ratatouille," "Walle," "Toy Story 3," "Tangled," "Ice Age 2," "Alice in Wonderland," "Cars 2," "Tron," "Xmen 3" and "Reel Steel." In 2005, he sold an original sci-fi thriller screenplay titled “The Savior” to The Weinstein Company.

Prior to executive work George spent 14 years as a director of music videos, commercials, movie trailers and episodic television. His first big break was in the mid 80’s at the advent of MTV as creative director in the newly formed video division at Capitol Records.

George’s first college summer job was as an imaging technician at Jet Propulsion Lab/NASA. If not busy with work and family he enjoys writing, Kiteboarding, investing, writing and is an avid Astrophotographer. George attended Pepperdine University, Brooks Institute of Photography and the University of Southern California. He is a member or The Writers Guild, Producers Guild and Visual Effects Society.
