George Hofstetter

Founder & CEO of GHTech Inc.

George Hofstetter is Software Engineer, Educator, CEO, University Innovation Fellow at Stanford University’s d.school, and Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for Kingmakers of Oakland.

At the age of 16 George started GHTech Inc. in hopes to help other Black and Brown students gain entry into the world of technology as innovators, not just consumers.

Hofstetter has built various systems and networks to connect Black and Brown students across the United States, from an app [CopStop] that combats police brutality, and curriculums [UptoCode Academy] for youth of color to use technology as an alternative tool for transformative education in computer science and entrepreneurship.

Hofstetter's most recent projects include an HBCU Lecture Series on Black Creativity and Hacktivism sponsored by Reddit and The University of Cambridge’s ThinkLab, being featured in the documentary, Use of Force: The policing of Black America, co-hosting the first volume of the (in)Visible Designers series at Stanford University’s d.school and writing for the University of Oxford’s student paper The Oxford Blue.
