Gideon Obarzanek is an Australian choreographer and the founder and artistic director of Chunky Move, a modern dance company that dazzles audiences with its use of interactive sound and light technologies to create genre-defying dance performances. Obarzanek’s works have been diverse in form and content and include stage productions, installations, site-specific works and film. His productions are distinguished by the unique way he combines dance with other art forms, translating human movement into other fascinating visual and kinetic forms. His works reveal normally invisible connections between our bodies, our actions and the environment we inhabit. Obarzanek’s multi-award winning works have been performed in many festivals and theatres around the world in the U.K., Europe, Asia and the Americas.
