Gillian Anderson is a British-American actress best known for her iconic role as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in the television series "The X-Files," which aired from 1993 to 2002 and had a revival in 2016. Her portrayal of Scully, a skeptical scientist and medical doctor, earned her critical acclaim and a dedicated fan following, as well as a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Anderson has appeared in film, television, and theater venues. She starred in films such as "The House of Mirth" (2000), "The Last King of Scotland" (2006), and "Johnny English Reborn" (2011). On television, she has taken on prominent roles in series like "The Fall," where she played Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson, and "American Gods," where she portrayed the deity Media. She garnered widespread praise for her role as Margaret Thatcher in the fourth season of "The Crown," winning a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance.
