Disney Legend Animator Known for "The Little Mermaid," "Tarzan" & "Beauty and the Beast"

Glen Keane is a 38-year veteran of Walt Disney Feature Animation, training under Walt Disney’s Nine Old Men. He was a character animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios for feature films including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Tarzan, and Tangled. He received the 1992 Annie Award for character animation and the 2007 Winsor McCay Award for lifetime contribution to the field of animation. He was named a Disney Legend in 2013.

In 2012, Keane departed Disney, founding Glen Keane Productions as a way to further his exploration of animation, design, and film. He has since collaborated with partners such as Google Spotlight Stories and the Paris Ballet. Keane’s most recent collaboration “Dear Basketball” with John Williams and the late Kobe Bryant received the 2018 Academy Award® for Best Animated Short Film. Keane recently directed the animated feature film Over the Moon in partnership with Pearl Studio and Netflix, which released Fall 2020.
