Goo Goo Dolls
Grammy Award-Winning Alternative Rock & Pop Band; Known for "Iris," "Come to Me" & "All That You Are"
The Goo Goo Dolls, an American rock band formed in 1986, have consistently delivered a unique blend of alternative rock, pop rock, and post-grunge music. Over their long-standing career, they've sold 15 million records worldwide and achieved mainstream success with their 1995 breakthrough single "Name." Their 1998 single "Iris" was not only a commercial success, but it also gained critical acclaim, spending 11 consecutive months on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaking atop the Hot 100 Airplay chart for 18 weeks. Furthermore, "Iris" was ranked number one on Billboard's "Top 100 Pop Songs 1992–2012" chart, marking it as a significant contribution to pop music during that period.
Over the years, the Goo Goo Dolls continued to deliver chart-topping hits such as "Slide," "Black Balloon," and "Broadway" from "Dizzy Up the Girl" (1998); "Here Is Gone" from "Gutterflower" (2002); and "Better Days," "Give a Little Bit," and "Stay with You" from "Let Love In" (2006). The band's consistent success is evident in their seven top-40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including three top tens. Their music has been featured in various platforms, such as the 2007 film "Transformers" and the Broadway musical "Finding Neverland." Notably, they performed "Before It's Too Late" from the "Transformers" soundtrack at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, on July 22, 2007, and made appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" in the same year.
The Goo Goo Dolls' contributions to the music industry have been recognized with four Grammy Award nominations, and they were inducted into the Guitar Center RockWalk Hall of Fame in 2013. They have consistently engaged in touring and live performances, including a special tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of "Dizzy Up the Girl" in 2018. In recent years, they released an exclusive vinyl box set for Record Store Day in 2017, titled "Pick Pockets, Petty Thieves, and Tiny Victories (1987–1995)" and embarked on the "Long Way Home" tour with Phillip Phillips in the summer of 2017. Currently, the Goo Goo Dolls are actively working on their 14th studio album "Chaos in Bloom," set to release in 2022, and have announced a North America tour in February 2023.
