Gord Martineau has earned his reputation as one of Toronto's favourite anchors. The popular senior co-anchor of Citytv's CityNews newscast in Toronto, has won countless reader and consumer choice awards, since joining Citytv in 1977. He has received prestigious awards for his newscasting, interviewed world leaders and has travelled internationally to provide on-location coverage of major world events.

Born and raised in Montreal, Gord Martineau started a career in radio directly out of high school. He worked at a Halifax radio station for two and a half years, where he then moved to the news department at Montreal's top Anglo radio station, CJAD. Developing an interest in television, he did a short stint at CJCH-TV in Halifax before becoming the weekend anchor at CFCF-TV; Montreal's number one English news and entertainment station.

Gord is proud to be actively involved with charitable organizations such as Sick Kids Hospital, Variety Club, Kidney Foundation of Canada, MS Society of Canada and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, to name only a few.
