Gregory Porter, an American singer, songwriter, and musician, has garnered acclaim on national and international stages alike. Raised in Bakersfield, California, Porter's sonic legacy is deeply steeped in Bakersfield's Southern Gospel sound and the influence of his mother's Nat King Cole record collection. Starting his musical journey in jazz clubs while attending San Diego State University on a football scholarship, Porter's talent quickly shone through, leading to the release of his first two albums, "Water" and "Be Good," which both received Grammy nominations.

Porter's breakout came with his third album, "Liquid Spirit," which sold over a million copies and earned him his first Grammy Award. This success was followed by his album "Take Me To The Alley," which won him his second Grammy for Best Vocal Jazz Album. His tribute to Nat King Cole, "Nat King Cole & Me," and his original songwriting album "ALL RISE" both received Grammy nominations, demonstrating Porter's ongoing contribution to the music industry. In addition to his musical prowess, Porter has also made appearances on several television shows, such as "The Graham Norton Show" and "Jools' Annual Hootenanny," further expanding his presence in the entertainment industry.

Porter's extensive discography continues to grow with his latest album, "Still Rising," featuring new songs, covers, duets, and favorite tracks. Additionally, Porter has been able to extend his influence beyond music. In May 2021, he launched his own cooking show, "The PorterHouse with Gregory Porter," showcasing another dimension of his creativity.
