Griselda Molemans
From jounalism to health care.
From 1979 on, Griselda Molemans has been working as a freelance reporter, specialized in entertainment, art, sports and history. Interviews and articles of her have been published in international media in the US, Brazil, the UK, Italy, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Hongkong. After completing her MA degrees in Art History and Classical Archaeology at the Vrije University in Amsterdam, she combined her writing skills with tv assignments as a host, commentator and reporter for the Dutch programme NOS Studio Sport and various sports, art and entertainment programmes for the tv channels RTL 4/RTL 5 and Canal Plus. In 1996, she founded WorldReport/SportReport, an international entertainment and sports production company that delivered interviews and programmes to CNN, ESPN International and Asia Sport Hongkong as well as many European tv channels.
Griselda is a fanatical basketball, tennis and squash player and swimmer, art lover and fluent in English, Dutch, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. She's taken classes in Bahasa Indonesia (the Indonesian language) for the book publications "Heirs of the Dutch Indies" (Kosmos/Z&K Publishers, Utrecht, 2004), "Daughters of the archipelago" (2004) and "In the tracks of the panther" (Balans Publishers, Amsterdam, 2005) which documents the search for the African ancestor of her family. She's a board member of the Indo-African Foundation which preserves the cultural heritage of the descendants of African soldiers who served in the colonial army in the Dutch Indies (present day Indonesia) and the Naaba Yambaga Foundation which supports local development projects in Burkina Faso.
She’s based in Los Angeles where she runs the crossmedial press agency QNA, specialized in current affairs, entertainment, sports and automotive for print, audio, internet and tv content. She’s a co-founder of the Dutch-American business club NAF-BIZ in the Greater Los Angeles Area and currently working on her new book Black skin, Orange heart which focuses on descendants of African soldiers in the Dutch Indies who live in The Netherlands, Ghana, Brazil, the US and Indonesia. The book will be published by KITLV Press, Leiden in May 2010.
