Gurnek is the co-founder and Chief Executive of YSC, currently based in the London office. He has worked with senior leaders across a wide range of industries for almost 25 years and remains a trusted advisor to some of the most senior leaders in British and international business.

Since establishing the company in 1990, Gurnek has been instrumental in growing YSC internationally to its current network of 15 offices. In the last 10 years he has also been responsible for leading YSC’s broadening strategy, providing clients with a wide range of offerings that support their diverse leadership and talent challenges.

In the role of Client Chair, Gurnek continues to play a critical role overseeing a number of YSC’s largest global clients. He has also been heavily involved in developing YSC’s intellectual capital, especially in the areas of organisational culture change, leadership development and board level assessment and coaching.

Gurnek is the chief author of 'Meaning Inc: The blueprint for business success in the 21st century' (Profile Books 2007). The book draws on his extensive experience working with leaders and brings to life the ways in which sustainable success is created through a meaningful sense of purpose and by creating the right environment in which individuals can flourish. Gurnek is regularly asked to speak at conferences and leadership summits and has appeared in HR Magazine's Top 100 Most Influential People.

Prior to YSC, Gurnek worked with a US firm of consulting psychologists. He is a Psychologist by background, having obtained a Degree in Social Psychology from the University of Sussex and a Doctorate from Oxford University.

Married with two children, Gurnek has a strong interest in spread betting (on anything) and in creative photography.
