Habeb Mahaboob is a Managing Consultant and Senior Vice President with Business Excellence., the consulting and management services practice of Tech Mahindra. Clients leverage Habeeb’ s expertise to identify the impact of digital technologies on their businesses (The what) and to work with them to devise strategies, IT operating models and ways of working (The How’s) to address these emerging needs.

Habeeb brings expertise in working with business to articulate the impact of digital technologies (through top down analysis of the firm from an industry, market and end customer perspective or through facilitated design thinking based workshops) and in working with client teams to conceptualize new operating models to achieve digital goals. Habeeb has worked closely with multiple clients to effectively lead the digital agenda of their respective firms.

In the past Habeeb was the primary architect of Mahindra Satyam’s CIO Advisory Practice. Habeeb has made significant contributions to intellectual assets of the practice including its popular assessment methodology (S-SMART), its IT Transformation methodology (Trans-IT) etc. Habeeb’ s contributions to Mahindra Satyam have been recognized through two S2R awards, membership of the company’s Game Changers Club (selected 50 in a team of 30,000) and a Mahindra corporate level innovation award.

Habeeb has undergone advanced training in multiple best practice frameworks; IT Infrastructure Library (Service Manager Training), Capability Maturity Model Integrated (Intermediate), Six Sigma (Candidate Master Black Belt), eSourcing Capability Model (Consultant and Evaluator): Business Continuity (Certified Business Continuity Professional) and Environmental Management Systems (Lead Auditor for ISO 14000).

Habeeb’ s current research interests include the impact of business models on performance and factors impacting performance of virtual teams. He is pursuing these as part of a Fellow (Industry) program at IIM, Indore. Habeeb has been an invited speaker for multiple national and international events, the recent one being itSMF Conference in the UK.

Habeeb’ s work experience of twenty seven years has covered consulting engagements focused on the IT function (and recently digital) across multiple verticals (finance, insurance, pharma, manufacturing and service providers) and across geographies. Prior to Tech Mahindra (Satyam), which he joined in 2000; Habeeb spent four years with Centre for Business Transformation at Baroda and five years with Apollo Tyres, Baroda, India.
